Tottenham Hotspur’s former captain Ledley King believes Gareth Bale will stay at White Hart Lane next season, despite Real Madrid are preparing a bid for the Premier League star.
The Spanish club is planning a move to sign the Welsh winger if they fail to keep Cristiano Ronaldo further than 2015, the Daily Mail informs.
Ledley King, however, thinks the White Hart Lane star is less likely to move abroad than other players, and mentioned the difficulties former team-mate Luka Modric is finding to settle at the Bernabeu.
“I don’t think he will [go],’ He’s happy at the club and playing his best football there”.
“Knowing Gareth the way I do he’s quite a home boy and he’s close to his family. The grass is not always greener on the other side. We’ve seen Luka Modric leave and go to Real Madrid, and he’s found it difficult”, he assured.
The one time England international is aware that the chances of keeping Bale rely on Spurs finishing among the top-four, but he believes the progression of the North London club will match the midfielder aspirations.
“Top players want to play in the Champions League and Tottenham will be going all out to make sure that happens”.

“I don’t see why they can’t really progress to the Champions League and hope fully the Premier League (title) in the next four years”, King concluded.
